The Museum of the North contains award-winning exhibits on Alaska’s natural and cultural history, including a 36,000-year-old steppe bison mummy, Native Alaskan art and the largest gold exhibit in the state. One of its most unique displays is the interactive music and light presentation called "The Place Where You Go to Listen," which changes its appearance depending upon the time of day, phases of the moon and other natural events. It is located on the campus of the University of Alaska-Fairbanks.
Open mid-Sep - mid-May: Mon. - Fri. 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; Sat. - Sun. noon - 5:00 p.m.; mid-May - mid-Sep: daily 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Adults $10; Seniors (60+) $9; Youth (7-17) $5; Children 6 and under are free.
